Skit maker, Carter Efe, has reportedly lost access to his Instagram account with over 1.8 million followers following a controversial statement he made about Nigerian music star WizKid.
The issue began after Carter Efe went live on social media, where he referred to WizKid as an "idiot boy" and described him as having excessive "pride." This comment did not sit well with the loyal fanbase of WizKid, known as "FC," who immediately began to criticize and drag Carter online.
The backlash intensified as fans allegedly mass reported his Instagram page, resulting in the eventual suspension or deletion of the account. Carter Efe, devastated by the incident, took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to express his pain and frustration.
He tweeted emotionally, saying: โFc una collect my Instagram account of 1.8Million followers ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ๐๐๐๐,โ implying that the fanbase had a hand in the removal of his account.
In a follow-up post, he showed a mix of love and disappointment, stating: โI love him with everything i have in my immune systems โค๏ธ๐ฅบ But the fans are going wild for the first son ๐ They betrayed me in the last minute Still love you Dad โค๏ธ.โ
Many internet users remain divided over the situation. While some believe Carter Efe crossed the line with his words, others argue that canceling someoneโs platform over an opinion is an extreme reaction.
