Controversial Nigerian investigative journalist Kemi Olunloyo [/b]has stirred social media reactions after accusing popular Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo of allegedly faking her newborn grandson’s photos with Artificial Intelligence (AI). The outspoken journalist made the shocking claims in a series of posts shared via her official Facebook page.
Recall that on Sunday, Iyabo Ojo joyfully announced the arrival of her first grandchild, a baby boy, sharing photos that captured herself, her daughter Priscilla Ojo, and the infant. The announcement was met with an outpouring of love, congratulations, and warm wishes from fans, colleagues, and fellow celebrities across the entertainment industry, who hailed the actress on becoming a grandmother.
However, in her controversial reaction, Olunloyo alleged that the viral baby pictures were not genuine but generated using AI technology. She accused Iyabo of deliberately misleading the public by portraying the baby as naturally born, whereas, according to her claims, the child came through a surrogate arrangement. She went further to allege that Priscilla Ojo and her partner, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, conceived through IVF, which was then implanted into a surrogate mother, and that a baby exchange had reportedly taken place months earlier.
“Iyabo Ojo should stop parading her AI baby picture to fool the internet. Where is the baby’s video if it’s real? She thrives on validation and her fans are too gullible. They actually believe this baby was delivered naturally. It is a surrogate baby and the truth will eventually come out,” Olunloyo wrote in her lengthy post.
In a follow-up statement, the journalist also cast doubt on the speculated place of birth of the child. While many online reports suggested that the baby was born in Canada, Olunloyo countered that the delivery might have taken place in Tanzania, though she admitted she was not completely certain of the exact location.
Further deepening the controversy, Olunloyo controversially linked the joyous celebration of Iyabo Ojo’s grandson to the painful death of late Nigerian singer Mohbad. She described the public’s excitement as misplaced, sparking widespread anger among netizens.
“Anyone celebrating Iyabo’s grandson is also celebrating the death of Mohbad. Do NOT celebrate tragedy,” she alleged, in a statement that has since triggered massive backlash from fans and industry stakeholders who condemned her remarks as insensitive and unnecessary.
As of now, Iyabo Ojo has not publicly responded to the allegations, and the debate continues to generate heated discussions online, with fans divided over Olunloyo’s claims and their implications.
