This comes in light of widespread reports of accidents involving Dangote trucks, many of which have tragically resulted in the loss of lives and serious injuries. The issue has sparked outrage nationwide, with many Nigerians taking to social media to call out the billionaire and demand accountability from his company.

Radiogad.

In a lengthy post shared on his social media pages, Radiogad explained that while it is understandable for citizens to be angry, the blame should not rest entirely on Dangote’s shoulders. He argued that many pedestrians often disregard basic road safety rules, such as looking both ways before crossing, which contributes significantly to road mishaps.

“Everybody is pouring out their frustration on Dangote, but they won’t blame those crossing the road carelessly. A sensible person will always look left and right before crossing,” he wrote, stressing that responsibility lies with both drivers and pedestrians.

Radiogad further noted that instead of turning the entire situation into an avenue to bash Dangote, more emphasis should be placed on promoting public awareness about road safety and pedestrian responsibility. He emphasized that accidents are complex occurrences that cannot simply be pinned on one individual or company.

@THE_CRAFT3R wrote: “The one and Deeone no difference. Feeding off people’s anger and frustrations. I waka pass.”

@EmekaJeremiah1 penned: “Where are the crosswalks in the country? Why should pedestrians have to navigate major roads on their own? Shouldn’t they have the right of way? Some people believe that if you’re careful enough, you and your family will be safe. But don’t you see that the nation’s roads are often designed in ways that endanger unsuspecting pedestrians? What happens to schoolchildren who aren’t yet smart enough to navigate them? Or adults who are simply having an off day?”

Other social media users argued that while pedestrians should be careful, major corporations like Dangote’s owe the public a higher duty of care. They stressed the need for well-maintained trucks, stricter driver training, and government regulation to ensure safety on Nigerian roads.

The debate continues to generate heated conversations online, with some agreeing with Radiogad’s stance and others faulting him for appearing to downplay the seriousness of the tragedies linked to Dangote’s trucks.
